Well Pharmacy has today (November 17) become the 50th organisation to gain the PIF TICK for its online health information.

Gaining the PIF TICK – the UK quality mark for health information – means Well Pharmacy is a Trusted Information Creator and meets 10 key steps for quality and reliability.

Well Pharmacy is the first pharmacy chain to gain the PIF TICK.

Its accreditation is particularly timely as it takes place in Self Care Week (November 15-21).

PIF director Sophie Randall said: “Pharmacists have a vital role to play in enabling and promoting self care.

"As the healthcare professionals on the high street, they are the first point of contact for trusted health information and can help ease the burden on GP services.

“We are thrilled Well Pharmacy has gained its PIF TICK in recognition of the fantastic online information it provides to support people to take care of their health.”

Well Pharmacy – the 'highest possible standards'

Well Pharmacy is the third largest pharmacy chain in the UK with more than 750 pharmacies.

To gain its PIF TICK it had to meet several steps including making sure information is evidence based, up-to-date and easy to use and understand.

Fiona Llewellyn, Head of Digital at Well Pharmacy, said: “We are delighted to be the 50th certified PIF TICK member.

"As a community pharmacist with branches in over 750 locations, we pride ourselves on the trust we have built up with the communities we serve.

“Nothing is more important to us than the health and wellbeing of our customers and patients.

“The PIF TICK is another way for us to demonstrate our commitment to maintaining the highest possible standards in our sector.”

The PIF TICK

More than 90 organisations, including NHS trusts, national health charities and pharmaceutical companies, have signed up since the PIF TICK launched in May 2020.

Of those, 50 have gained their PIF TICK accreditation.
