PIF members have been recognised at the Patient Experience Network National Awards.

The PEN Awards recognise best practice in patient experience across health and social care in the UK.

Cardiff and Vale Patient Experience Department won Team of the Year for Listening, Learning and Improving in Real Time.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust won the Strengthening the Foundation category for its DNACPR Quality Improvement Project.

The trust was also recognised in a further 11 categories.

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust won the Integration and Continuity of Care award for providing support and resources for people affected by cancer.

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust won the Support for Caregivers, Friends, and Family category for The Clinical Helpline.

The helpline uses digital healthcare records to communicate effectively with relatives and carers to enhance patient experience and safety in hospital.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust won the Communicating Effectively with Patients and Families category for its Virtual Youth Involvement Group – communicating effectively and providing opportunities for young people.

University Hospitals of Leicester won the Fiona Littledale Award for setting up a neuroendocrine patient service.

Karen Green from the hospital also won the Patient Experience Professional of the Year award for Pathway to Excellence – The use of the GULP Risk Assessment Tool in reducing inpatient harms.
