National Voices has issued a new guide on how to tackle racial inequalities in health and care charities.

The guide focuses on four key areas and provides advice on how to:

  • effectively diversify Boards of Trustees and staff teams.
  • establish and maintain inclusive organisational cultures.
  • work with people with diverse lived experience in insight and influencing activities.
  • ensure inclusive service delivery.

The report is based on the outcome of roundtable discussions with member charities.

National Voices acknowledge this is not a comprehensive guide to tackling racism in the health or voluntary sectors. Rather it aims to give people ideas for what they could do, alongside practical tools to take action.
