PIF enhances the expertise of people working in the field of health information. Our CPD-accredited training, hot topic webinar series and professional guidance support achievement of PIF TICK certification and wider industry expertise.

There is a science to the production of quality health information. Our training and guidance is available to support the achievement of high standards. Every year hundreds of health information professionals take part in activities to develop their expertise.

Training

PIF offers training on key health information topics in a variety of formats. All of our training is aligned with the PIF TICK criteria and supports certification. As well as our in-house CPD-accredited workshops, we also offer e-learning, and both virtual and in-person bespoke options.

Webinars

PIF’s hot-topic webinars launched during the pandemic and have become one of our most popular member offerings. Free for all PIF members to attend, recent topics have included health inequalities, data visualisation and behaviour change. Catch up on our latest webinars via the resource hub.

Guidance

Our guidance sets the standards for health information and is aligned to the PIF TICK criteria. Topics include accessibility, translation, plain language and communicating risk. All guidance is developed and updated in collaboration with our cross-sector membership and industry experts. Full guidance documents are only available to PIF members. However, we do offer summaries to non-members to increase wider industry knowledge.

Good practice

At PIF we believe everyone should have access to information they can understand and use. This is why we publish good practice materials which are free for anyone to download and use. These include our popular Health Information Matters poster series and the Producing Health Information for Children and Young People Guide funded by NHS England.
