PIF members named winners at CharityComms awards

The annual awards highlight inspirational communicators, as PIF members reflect on their success.

PIF members were among the charity communications professionals announced as winners in the CharityComms Inspiring Communicator Awards 2025. The annual awards highlight people who demonstrate spirit, insight, skills, and, above all, are inspirational in their use of communications for a cause or charity. There were seven categories at this year's awards, which were held in December, and three were won by PIF members.

'Vital and compassionate resource'

The Best Collaboration (freelancer and charity) award went to The Stroke Association and Eleanor Stanley. They used lived experiences to produce a vital and compassionate resource about causes and treatments for children who have had a stroke. Eleanor said the booklet My Child Has Had A Stroke was created using insight and collaboration with parents. She also relied on her own experience as a parent carer along with clinical expertise from the Stroke Association. The booklet includes information on a child's journey after having a stroke, tips for coping with hospital life, advice on what to tell people as well as useful section on where to get help and support.

You can download the childhood stroke guide from the Stroke Association website here.

The learning behind a legacy film

The Best Collaboration (agency and charity) winners were PIF member CoppaFeel! and The Saltways who collaborated to develop and share the learning from Sue’s Story, a legacy film project which encourages audiences aged 50+ to give to a youth-focused charity. Its core objective was to normalise legacy giving, presenting it as an empowering, straightforward choice with lasting impact, featuring Sue's personal story at the heart of the narrative.

Team described as 'backbone' of charity

Team of the Year was awarded to the communications, engagement and fundraising team at PIF member ERIC, The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity. The team has supercharged its visibility as a charity, reaching 1.6 million people online and was described as “the backbone” of the charity’s services. Gina Jones, head of communications, engagement and fundraising at ERIC, said: “This award means so much to our team and to ERIC. We are a small charity with a big impact."
