A new resource has been co-created for older people with Crohn’s or colitis. PIF member Crohn's & Colitis UK developed the resource in response to feedback from its community. Core topics include growing older with the conditions, living with multiple conditions, signs and symptoms in older people, medicines and surgery. The resource also includes sections on living with Crohn's or colitis and caring for an older person living with Crohn's or colitis.
Knowledge and information editor Judith Mission said: "Crohn's and colitis are lifelong conditions. With an aging population, the number of older people living with these conditions is increasing. Issues such as co-morbidities, polypharmacy, changes in mental and physical health and need for social support can affect how the conditions are managed. In response to feedback from our community, Crohn's & Colitis UK have co-created a resource to inform and empower people with Crohn's or colitis as they grow older with their condition."
Growing older with Crohn's or Colitis was produced with patients, medical advisers and other professionals. Access the full resource here.
