PIF member the ABPI has launched new guidance on developing partnerships between the NHS and industry at NHS ConfedExpo 2024. Accelerating transformation: how to develop effective NHS-industry partnerships – new guidance for the NHS and industry seeks to:

  • Consolidate existing guidance on partnership working for ICSs in England.
  • Provide the latest information on the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Provide practical templates and frameworks to support local NHS organisations in understanding collaborative and joint working agreements.
  • Bring partnership working to life with case studies.

The publication was created under the leadership of the NHS Confederation and the ABPI with the expertise of more than 30 NHS and industry leaders. It will be distributed by the NHS Confederation and NHS England. The document has also been reviewed by the PMCPA.

To illustrate the opportunities presented by partnership working, the ABPI has also published a refreshed library of more than 180 case studies of successful NHS and industry partnerships. The examples show what can be achieved when industry, NHS organisations, and in some cases charities, work together to improve patient care and NHS performance.
