Annual Review 2024

PIF became a charity in the summer of 2023. This review covers our first 15 months in this new structure. It has been another exciting period for the organisation, with both the number of PIF TICK certified organisations and the PIF membership growing.

An emerging concern was the use of AI in health information. We issued a position statement on AI, with a warning on the use of open generative AI, followed by a framework for the use of AI in health information. A review of the PIF TICK criteria, led by our expert steering group, focused on managing the risks and benefits of AI.

At the end of 2024 we published Knowledge is Power, a state of the nation report on access to health information. This period also saw us work with a group of charities to publish joint guidance on fair market value and publish a report with PRSB on the use of digital portals.
