Self-Care Awards 2025 open for entries

The Self Care Forum is urging everyone to nominate empowering self-care initiatives for its annual awards.

Nominations are now open for the Self-Care Forum Self Care Awards. Run by PIF partner the Self-Care Forum, the awards recognise initiatives supporting individuals to improve their self-care practices. Initiatives could include education, social prescribing, personalised care or peer support. The awards are open to everyone – from community champions and councils to businesses and service organisations.

Awards criteria

The awards are for implemented initiatives only and applicants should be guided by the following questions:

  • Was there a clear objective in mind?
  • How rigorous was the planning and execution of the initiative?
  • Did the initiative demonstrate innovation?
  • How was the initiative impactful and does the evidence or evaluation support this?
  • Did the initiative show clear lessons learned and is it sustainable?
  • Is the initiative easy to replicate by another individual or organisation, can it be scaled up?

Examples of self-care initiatives could include: social-prescribing and surgery-led activities, pharmacy promotions, healthy living groups, support groups empowering specific communities, self-management courses and mental-wellbeing events.

Top entries

The winning entry will receive a £500 bursary courtesy of the International Self-Care Foundation, to spend on a self-care related initiative. Smaller amounts will be awarded to the highly commended entries. The top eight entries will be featured on the “self-care best practice” page of the Self-Care Forum website.

Deadline for submissions is 31 July.  Winners will be announced ahead of National Self-Care Week in November, which is organised by the Self-Care Forum.
