A GP recognised for her work raising awareness of women’s health has become the first PIF TICK ambassador. Dr Nighat Arif is a bestselling author, medical broadcaster, online content creator and honorary fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In August she gained her PIF TICK certification, showing the health information she creates is evidence-based, up-to-date and easy to use and understand. As PIF TICK Ambassador, Dr Arif will support PIF’s mission to help everyone access health information they can understand and use.
Dr Arif said: “Health information should be easy to understand, be available and reliable for everyone. Health must be an equitable priority for all.”
The PIF TICK is the only independently-assessed quality mark for print and digital health information. It is run on a non-profit basis by the Patient Information Forum (PIF), a UK-based charity. PIF director Sophie Randall said: “We are thrilled Dr Nighat Arif has become our first PIF TICK Ambassador. Dr Arif’s work raising awareness of women’s health is outstanding and we believe she will be a fantastic advocate for trusted health information.”
Dr Arif is one of more than 130 Trusted Information Creators featured in the latest PIF TICK Directory update. The directory is a free resource published every six months. It includes every certified PIF TICK creator, sorted by health topic. The aim is to help healthcare professionals and other users quickly and easily find trusted sources of health information.
