Effective advance care planning is the theme of the Annual Stephen Hawking MND Lecture 2023.
Former NHS England national clinical director for palliative and end of life care, Professor Bee Wee CBE, will present the lecture.
It will be suitable for all health and social care professionals and members of the public with an interest in motor neurone disease (MND).
Although the focus is on care for people with MND, organisers say much of the content will be applicable to other conditions.
Professor Wee is a consultant in palliative medicine at Sobell House and Katharine House Hospice, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
She is also an associate professor at the University of Oxford and a director of NICE.
The lecture is organised by PIF member the MND Association and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
It will be live-streamed on 21 November between 6pm and 8pm.
