About me

I am a specialist in health content with 20 years of experience in healthcare communications. I'm passionate about producing high-quality, reliable, evidence-based health information. I combine a pharmacology degree and medical knowledge with extensive experience in health content production and optimising content for the web. 

I specialise in writing and editing consumer health information, with experience in working with health charities and with independent and private healthcare organisations. I provide freelance editorial and consultancy services including: writing/editing health information for digital or print publication; project management of health content production; and consultancy on best practices, auditing and planning for health content. I'm available for ongoing or one-off projects.

Skills and experience

I have particular skills in sourcing and critically appraising medical evidence; interpreting complex medical information; writing readable and relevant patient information; and working with web metrics for search engine optimisation. 

I regularly work with organisations that follow the PIF Tick criteria, and have vast knowledge of best practices in producing consumer health content. I worked with PIF on developing guidance for finding and referencing evidence sources and risk communication, and have previously provided training for members in these areas.
