|Job title:||Health writer and communications consultant|

I develop copy and films that make positive change to people's lives. I am commissioned by a range of health and social change organisations, including health charities, NHS trusts, think tanks and central government.
I draw on my background in social anthropology and training in active listening skills to develop a strong understanding of the needs of the audience before finding the messages that will resonate with them. This often involves conducting in depth, semi-structured interviews and close collaboration with in-house teams. I have 20 years' experience in the field and am passionate about contributing to clear, effective communication that really makes a difference to people's health and wellbeing.
Skills and experience
I have a particular interest in storytelling, case studies and patient voice, and bringing these into many types of content, including patient information (for example in multiple films for Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and as editor of the National Eczema Society magazine), reports (such as the report of the Health Foundation's Covid-19 Impact Inquiry) and policy documents (such as the 2000 NHS People Plan). I also provide project management, training, coaching, research and insight and strategy.
